About the Ranch
"You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete."
R. Buckminster Fuller
What We Do
Bittersweet Ranch is home to goats, sheep, chickens, pigs, ducks and cows. There is a large commercial greenhouse that will soon propagate fruit trees, ornamental trees, seedlings and succulents.
Depending upon the season, the farm sells eggs, poultry products, beef and lamb. Future items include pork, goat kefir, hot sauce, pickles and a Supper Club!

Founder
Ian is a holistic health practitioner specializing in performance based rehabilitation. Growing up in Litchfield, his background includes education in agriculture and nutrition.
In 2020, he created Bittersweet Ranch to provide his community with high quality products and sustain the land.
History of the Land
Bittersweet Ranch was once a multigenerational dairy farm run by the Lipeika family until 1982. The Smith family bought the farm shortly after and turned it into a Christmas tree farm. In 2020, Ian purchased the farm and renovated the farmhouse and cleared 20+ acres of land to bring it back to its true farm state.
